Welcome to Hearth Learning. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Account Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a parent or legal guardian to create a Hearth Learning account. Children cannot create accounts independently. By creating an account, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of any children who will use this service.

2. Account Responsibility

As the account holder, you are responsible for:

Maintaining the security of your login credentials.
Creating and managing student profiles for your children.
Supervising your children's use of the platform as you see fit.
All activity that occurs under your account.

3. Student Profiles

Student profiles are created by parents within the family account. We recommend using fun nicknames rather than your children's real names. Each family account may have up to 6 student profiles.

4. The Service

Hearth Learning provides educational practice apps and games for homeschool families. The current catalog includes daily-practice apps for typing fluency, math facts, reading comprehension, and US geography, plus a kid-safe arcade game. We add new apps over time and include them in your existing family subscription at no extra cost. We strive to keep the platform available and functional, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time.

5. Subscription, Pricing, and Free Trial

Hearth Learning is offered on a single yearly subscription plan that covers your entire family — one price, every app, every child you add to the account.

Free trial. New family accounts start with a 7-day free trial. No payment information is required to begin the trial. At the end of the trial, full access ends until you subscribe.
Subscription price. The current introductory price is $29.99 USD per family, per year (regular price $49.99). The introductory price is locked in at the time you subscribe; if the introductory price ends later, your renewals continue at the price you started with unless we notify you of a change at least 30 days before your next renewal.
Billing. Subscriptions renew automatically each year. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant third-party payment processor. Payment screens are accessible only to parents, never to children.
Cancellation. You may cancel at any time using the link in your Stripe receipt email or by contacting us at hearthlearn@gmail.com. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for.
Refunds. Yearly subscriptions are non-refundable except where required by law. If you cancel mid-term, you retain access until the end of that term.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
Reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the platform's software or content.
Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the platform.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and educational materials on Hearth Learning are owned by Hearth Technology LLC. Your use of the platform does not grant you ownership of any content or materials.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the platform, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Account Deletion

You may request account deletion at any time by emailing hearthlearn@gmail.com. Upon deletion, all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days of the request.

10. Limitation of Liability

Hearth Learning is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by displaying a notice when you next log in. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
